Ladies in Beef is joining forces with the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) to plan for Great British Beef Week 2013, which will run from 21st to 27th April.

Great British Beef Week was established as an annual celebration of the British Beef industry in 2011 and has previously been celebrated both at a local level, with regional events, and nationally with the support of the nation’s biggest supermarkets. It is always timed to coincide each year with St George’s Day on 23rd April.

RABI’s involvement next year is being welcomed by Ladies in Beef’s founder Minette Batters, who said: “What we have learned over the past couple of years is that there are so many local and regional opportunities to celebrate all that is best about our beef industry, its importance to many local economies, and the fantastic product which we produce.”

RABI chief executive, Paul Burrows, said: “We are delighted to be part of Great British Beef Week in 2013 and grateful to Ladies in Beef for helping us to raise awareness of the support we offer farming families in financial difficulty.

British beef is the best in the world and something for our industry to be truly proud of.”
