Samworth Brothers to build new plant
Samworth Brothers is to build a new factory on a site at Ashton Green, Beaumont Leys, which it has purchased from Leicester City Council. It will be the business’s ninth plant in the county.
The city major said: “Attracting new businesses to bring new jobs and economic regeneration to the area will be vital to its success. At a time when every job counts I am delighted to have agreed this deal.”
Details are yet to be released of what products the factory will be producing but it’s anticipated it will be in the chilled sector and will be opening in 2014.
