Cranswick has reported revenue growth of 5% after releasing its Q1 trading update, which are said to be in line with expectations.

The growth was delivered across most categories with the summer ranges benefiting from good weather.

Pig prices in the period have followed a more normal seasonal pattern, rising slightly in the spring, but remaining within the anticipated range of 160-165p/kg. This has resulted in steady margins for the company and in line with last year’s average of c5.4%.

Cranswick’s main projects this year are extending the Delico cooked meats factory at Milton Keynes, which will enable it to accommodate more business, and also upgrading the chilling system at Norfolk, which will improve yields.
