With just a year to go until the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, supermarket Aldi has revealed that it will promote its partnership with Team GB across its range of fresh meat products.

Aldi is Team GB’s first official supermarket partner and will support all of Team GB’s athletes in the build-up to and during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Aldi is expecting sales to grow as six Team GB athletes get behind its campaign to encourage the nation to buy British. The six aspiring Rio Olympic athletes will represent Team GB as they become the faces of Aldi’s campaign, appearing in national press adverts to promote Aldi’s fresh meat range, all of which is British.

Will Barstow, Aldi’s fresh meat buying director, said: “We’re excited to be supporting Team GB in the run up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, with our high-quality 100% British fresh meat range fuelling the athletes as they prepare. We hope that with the support of the British public, the athletes will build on the medal-winning performances that made London 2012 such a success.”
