Protein is central to any athlete’s or rugby player’s diet, and boxes of lean meat of the quality that YDMC supplies to top restaurants and hotels will be available to collect at Darlington Mowden Park’s home ground The Northern Echo Arena on match days.

A box costing £35 will contain five chicken fillets, two rib eye steaks, two pork loin steaks, a pack of Swaledale sausages and a kilo each of mince and casserole meat. A £20 box, meanwhile, will contain three chicken fillets, two rump steaks, two pork loin steaks and a kilo of mince.

The meat is all sourced from suppliers that share YDMC’s commitment to the highest standards of food provenance.

This is not the first time that YDMC has supplied meat to top rugby players: the England Rugby Union Elite Squad ate its way through unprecedented amounts of its produce when Head Coach Stuart Lancaster brought the players to Weetwood Hall in Leeds for training last year.

Lee Rust, commercial director at Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Club, said: “It’s great to be working with one our key sponsors to offer players and supporters high quality local meat at such fair prices.

“Protein is key to any rugby player’s diet and the lads playing at this level get through huge amounts of meat to ensure they are in peak physical condition at all times, and the meat provided in the Yorkshire Dales Meat Company are of the lean variety recommended in their diets.”
