2 Sisters is ramping up production at its chicken processing facility in Flixton, announcing that it will create 100 jobs following an upgrade of the facility earlier this year, ahead of its Christmas period.
The Suffolk site has seen investment in new technology and an upgrade of its effluent plant as part of a multi-million pound investment programme across UK poultry that was unveiled by the business last year.
Allison Smith, general manager at the Flixton site, commented: “The upgrade at Flixton will enable us to grow business and provide new career opportunities for people in the region.
“This is great news for the site and acknowledges the loyalty and capability of our fantastic colleagues that continue to go the extra mile each and every day to supply our customers with great quality, safe chicken.”
John Gibson, site human resources manager, added: “We’ve very proud of what we do here at Flixton and excited by the prospect of expanding our family.
“Young people in particular often don’t see the food industry as their first choice for a career but we can offer a wide range of exciting job opportunities ranging from finance to engineering, from training to health and safety.”
