‘The Empowering Leader’ initiative targets the company’s management team and aims to offer training in many key areas of management for food processing.
The one-year programme incorporates three core modules, ‘Leader of Me’, ‘Leader of Others’ and ‘Leader of Teams’. These modules will consist of a variety of training sessions that, ABP said, will suit a variety of individual learning styles. Included within the programme are webinars, one-to-one coaching sessions and face-to-face workshops.
The initiative is the most recent addition to the ABP Talent Academy’s learning and development programme ‘Homegrown’, which aims to provide development pathways and opportunities for staff entering the workforce via entry level, apprenticeship and graduate training programmes.
Since relaunching its Talent Academy in 2016, over 500 staff have graduated from their respective programmes with many going on to management and leadership roles within the business.
Bob Carnell, CEO of ABP UK, said: “Great leadership creates an environment where people want to perform, and as leaders, we cannot underestimate the impact and influence we have on our colleagues. We are looking forward to bringing the management team together to help them develop and inspire others in the business.”
