The Premier Young Butcher Competition will return to Meatup at ArenaMK in Milton Keynes next year and butchery apprentices from across the UK are being invited to take part.

The competition is open to all 18 to 23 year old butchery apprentices throughout the UK. Finalists will then compete in producing and displaying innovative Ready to Eat, Stuffed Roast, Seam Butchery, Barbecue and Kitchen Ready products for the title of Premier Young Butcher 2017.

The competition will take place at Meatup, the only dedicated UK exhibition serving the meat industry, at its new venue of ArenaMK in Milton Keynes on Thursday 25th May 2017. Meatup is a two day event and runs from Wednesday 24th to Thursday 25th May 2017.

The 2016 winner James Henshaw of Taylors Farm Shop in Lathom, Lancashire, is now preparing to take part in the International Young Butcher Competition in Imst, Austria next May alongside 2016 runner-up Dylan Gillespie of Clogher Valley Meat, Northern Ireland, and James Taylor of Simpsons in Heckington, Lincolnshire.

In addition to the Premier Young Butcher Competition, Meatup will feature a wide range of exhibitors, seminars from leading speakers and further craft competitions.
