A new app has been launched to make it easier for beef and sheep farmers and those in the processing sector to have the latest market information at their fingertips while on the go.As well as the latest prices and trends, the EBLEX Mobile app gives users the fast track to the most commonly accessed areas of the organisation’s stakeholder-facing website, including events, news, Better Returns Programme (BRP) resources and weather reports, localised to the current location.
You can search for the nearest auction markets to compare prices, favourite specific markets for quick access and create your own personalised library of technical manuals.
The idea behind the project has been to ensure that access to information is as quick as possible and can be used even when there is no wi-fi or mobile signal in England’s more rural areas.
“The app obviously needs wi-fi or mobile data connectivity to download and update but, importantly, it means latest saved data can be accessed even when off-line, which is an advantage in more rural areas where coverage can be patchy at best,” said James Wilde, Head of Communications at EBLEX.
“In particular, favourite technical manuals can be quickly downloaded to the device and then accessed anytime, anywhere.
“It means producers, processors and other industry stakeholders can access key services without waiting until they are in front of a computer screen.”The EBLEX Mobile app is available for free on both Apple and Android platforms. Visit Apple’s App Store or Google Play and search for EBLEX.
