Enterprising Aldershot butcher, Paul Turner of A Turner & Sons secured an £80,000 investment for his business following an appearance on the BBC’s Dragon’s Den programme.
Entrepreneur, Peter Jones invested in Turner’s quality sausage range in exchange for 33% of the business. Paul will now be in a position to launch his own brand in supermarkets nationwide.
Paul described being in the den as: “Terrifying… It is not an act. When you are in the den they really do show you no mercy and it was one of the toughest experiences of my life.
“They know the questions to ask and really do their best to put you on the back foot. But Peter saw what I was looking to achieve and I was able to win him over.”
Paul was overall winner in the brand category in the 2011 Best of British Sausage awards. His win in the den comes as the 2012 British Sausage Week approaches, running from 5th to 11th November.
