The Food and Drink Training and Education Council (ftc) is running a new stakeholder consultation on butchery apprenticeships that gives stakeholders an opportunity to comment on their experience.
The review is timely say ftc as the Level 2 Butcher Standard is due for review by the Institute for Apprenticeships this year (IfA). The Advanced Butcher will also be up for review soon. As ftc played a key role in helping design the butchery apprenticeships, the organisation is committed to ensuring that they continue to meet industry needs.
Ftc are holding this consultation to give stakeholders the opportunity to comment on their experience of the apprenticeships, whether butchery employers, training providers or apprentices. The results will be shared with the butchery employer trailblazer group and could help shape the future design of butchery apprenticeships in England.
CEO of the ftc Bill Jermey said: “This is a great opportunity for all involved to have their say and play a part in shaping how the apprenticeships will look in the future.”
Short employer and apprentice surveys have been produced to complete online and this enables feedback to be given in just a few minutes. Readers can link to these surveys here:

The consultation will end on 12th April 2019 and will also involve interviews with employers and training providers.
