The Deadweight Average Pig Price (DAPP) has been discontinued and all those currently receiving SMS will be migrated this week to receive the Standard Pig Price (SPP) instead.
For those wishing to receive the SPP who don’t currently subscribe to the DAPP SMS service then it is available by texting dwpig to 83070 for 50p per weekly message.
BPEX is launching the Average Pig Price (APP) by SMS service, which will be available by texting dwapp to 84555 for 25p per weekly message. These two separate SMS services have been created so subscribers can receive each price as soon as it becomes available.
Both are also available on the BPEX website and by email. AHDB Market Intelligence head of data analysis Charlotte Garbutt said: “The announcement of the cessation of the DAPP was made some time ago.
“The two replacement services will offer rapid data for all those in the industry for whom prices are important.”
