Time is running out for the chance to win an opportunity to travel abroad in search of inspirational ideas to enhance the red meat industry in Wales.
Applications for Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) – Meat Promotion Wales’ Livestock Scholarship must be received by 20th June 2014.
The Scholarship, which has been running since 2004, offers enthusiastic individuals up to £3,500 to fund an overseas trip lasting four to six weeks.
If you work in the Welsh red meat industry, are passionate about agriculture and would like to contribute to the development of the sector in Wales, complete the application form.
Successful entrants will investigate the practices and techniques used in the meat industry in other countries, which will undoubtedly benefit their own businesses and the industry as a whole.
Past scholars have travelled as far as Australia, Argentina, New Zealand and Norway, and have studied a range of interesting topics. These include a study of North American Charcuterie, forage utilisation in sheep management systems in New Zealand, and how Argentinian farmers rear and finish cattle on a low cost system.
More information and a copy of the application form can be found on the HCC website – www.hccmpw.org.uk/farming/scholarships/
