Dundee bistro, The Bach, has partnered with Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) to create a limited-edition dish featuring Scotch Lamb in order to celebrate Love Lamb Week.
The dish consists of shredded Scotch Lamb, chopped roti bread, vegetables, egg & aromatic spices topped with a spicy gravy.
Launched as part of the national campaign to promote the profile of Scottish farmers and the wider supply chain, the dish is available from 1st – 7th September in order to highlight the flavours and versatility of Scotch lamb.
“Lamb can sometimes be overlooked in favour of other meats, but we hope that enjoying it with the delicious, spiced flavours on offer from The Bach will help people see how tasty and versatile it is.”
Lesley Cameron, director of marketing and communications at Quality Meat Scotland, the organisation which promotes Scotch Lamb, said: “Scottish butchers and foodservice operators up and down the supply chain have been working harder than ever in recent months to provide people with world-class Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork, so we are delighted to be partnering with The Bach Bistro to give people the chance to try Scotch Lamb in a new and exciting way.
“Lamb can sometimes be overlooked in favour of other meats, but we hope that enjoying it with the delicious, spiced flavours on offer from The Bach will help people see how tasty and versatile it is.”
Wendy Stewart, owner of The Bach, said: “We’re really excited for customers to try the delicious, local Scotch Lamb mixed with the vibrant, aromatic flavours of Sri Lanka, which together make a brilliantly balanced dish.
“We’re committed to supporting the Scottish red meat industry and are proud to be a part of the Scotch Beef Club, which recognises this commitment and means customers can have the confidence in the quality and integrity of our ingredients.”
