EBLEX has developed a new training course giving people working in the meat industry an opportunity to improve their technical knowledge.
The course is designed to address all aspects of meat quality, such as tenderness, flavour and colour, with training delivered by Dr Peter Sheard, formerly of the University of Bristol, together with EBLEX specialists.
EBLEX head of supply chain business development, Dr Phil Hadley, said: “Meat quality is fundamental to what we do, however it’s an area where many people working in the industry could benefit from increasing their knowledge.
“By introducing this course, which we plan to offer on a regular basis to EBLEX stakeholders, we’re aiming to help improve awareness of the basics of meat science and ensure that meat quality is maintained across the industry.”
The two-day meat science master class will take place from 14th to 15th April in Stratford-Upon-Avon as part of an EBLEX drive to increase the level of training offered to the industry.
