Wakefield’s Blacker Hall Farm Shop is flying the flag and beefing up its special offers for Great British Beef Week, which starts on St George’s Day, Wednesday, April 23rd.
The Calder Grove outlet, now officially the UK’s Best Farm Shop, is even extending the annual promotion until Monday, May 5, to allow customers to tap into mouthwatering deals on some of its best-known award-winning products over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.
Blacker Hall Farm Shop aims to be a cut above by exclusively selling all the prime beef raised on its own farm just a mile down the road from the shop, supplemented by quality livestock from other local beef farmers.
Co-owner Edward Garthwaite explained: “We are really big on beef and keen to celebrate and promote its quality, versatility and nutritional benefits among our growing customer base.
“In fact, in the wake of the first anniversary of the horsemeat scandal, we continue to experience heightened consumer awareness of the importance of label of origin when it comes to buying British beef.”
Throughout the promotion, Blacker Hall Farm Shop, a member of the elite national Butchers Q Guild, will be running a cut-price offer on its topside of beef, which clinched a major accolade at the Guild’s 2013 Smithfield Awards, an annual product evaluation event.
There’s also a meal deal offer centred around the shop’s steak burgers, which struck gold in the Q Guild’s national BBQ awards last year, while a ‘Super Steak Weekend’ from Friday to Sunday, April 25-27, will offer further value-added incentives.
Also under the spotlight throughout the promotion will be other Blacker Hall Farm Shop regional and national award winners, including rib of beef, voted best roast beef in England, Great Taste Award-winning steaks and gold award-winning rumpettes.
