Returning for the first time since 2019, this year’s Golden Haggis Awards 2022 saw haggis makers from all over Scotland fighting it out for the coveted title in the cask room at Oban Distillery.

Mark Grant and his Golden Haggis double win.

Grants of Taynuilt ensured that both the titles that were up for grabs stayed in Argyllshire. Repeating the somewhat rare double that they previously pulled off in 2014 the Taynuilt haggis maker lifted both the headline award, which was judged by two Oban restauranteurs John McNulty from Etive Restaurant and David Anderson from Number 17, and the Peoples’ Choice.

Members of the public attending the Haggisfest at the Oban Winter Festival had the chance to taste and cast their vote in the People’s Choice Award. The public vote overwhelmingly agreed with the judges in the main award confirming the double for Mark Grant (pictured).

Runner up in the Golden Haggis Award 2022 was Forsyth’s of Peebles and in the People's Choice it was McCaskies of Wemyss Bay.
