A protein manufacturer consisting of Yorkshire Premier Meat (YPM) and Smithfield Murray has been renamed as Karnova Food Group.
Private equity firm Endless LLP acquired Yorkshire Premier Meat in early 2022 before purchasing Smithfield Murray a year later. Following the acquisitions, the firm brought the two businesses together to "service customers with a "flexible multi-protein supply of value-added product".
Karnova currently employs over 250 people, with sites in South Kirkby, near Doncaster and Trafford Park, in Manchester.
Paul Peachey, CEO of Karnova said: “The bringing together of YPM and Smithfield Murray under one group name, Karnova, is another exciting and important step in the organisation’s ambitious growth plans, which will see further organic growth - investing more in our sites, our people, our processes and new technologies - together with further acquisitions.”
