Supreme championship-winning prime beef cuts are going on sale at an award-winning West Yorkshire farm shop for its customers Christmas tables.
Keelham Farm Shop in Thornton, Bradford, bought the title-winning Limousin-cross bullock shown by the Fawcett farming family, from Sand Hutton, near York, at Skipton Auction Mart’s prestigious Christmas primestock show at the end of November.
The beef has been hung for 21 days to ensure it is fully matured and in peak condition for the Christmas trade, with some first-rate roasts and other prime cuts now available over the butchery counter at the Brighouse & Denholme Road outlet.
Farmers William and Edward Fawcett travelled over to see their champion beef, as it went on sale at Keelham, joined by Skipton Auction Mart auctioneers Ted Ogden and Sam Bradley.
As well as the supreme champion, Keelham Farm Shop snapped up six further prime beef cattle, four of which were first prize winners in their respective show classes. These, too, have been carefully prepared for festive tables.
