Firefighters are currently dealing with a large fire that broke out at Suffolk butchers, Bramfield Meats, in the early hours of this morning.

The fire service was called to the scene just before 4am on Wednesday 7th September and it is understood that the fire is not yet under control.

Low Road in Bramfield, where the fire has taken place, has been closed by police.

A statement on the Suffolk Fire & Rescue service site said: “Crews are currently dealing with a fire in a building consisting of shop and industrial unit which is fully involved in fire, building measures 25m by 20m.

“There are eight fire engines, one aerial ladder platform and two water bowsers supporting the firefighters tackling the fire.

“Firefighters have surrounded the fire and are working to prevent further spread to neighbouring properties.”

The Salvation Army are in attendance to provide refreshments for the emergency services’ crews.

The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
