James and Jo Macsween, third generation joint managing directors of Macsween Haggis, have been awarded the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Food & Drink’ accolade at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.The award was given in recognition of the duo’s track record in reaching new customers through innovative product development and marketing.
James Macsween commented: “I was shocked when I heard the judges describing a company that sounded so very like our own and even more so when they called out my name. The award hopefully shows that our efforts to change perceptions of haggis with innovation and new products are really being recognised. At last year’s ceremony we were awarded Product of the Year for our Special Editions – both the Three Bird haggis (grouse, pheasant and smoked duck), and our Venison haggis - but to get the Outstanding Contribution title this year really is fantastic!"
