Jim Viggars is the new MD of CV Natural Foods.

Based in Almancil Portugal, the business comprises four restaurants - the Parrilla Natural, Gourmet Natural, Cocina Natural, and recent addition the Wild Fire Smoke House.

The company is striving to create a chain of restaurants which use only natural ingredients, and that includes a major emphasis on sourcing top quality meat.

Working in close partnership with the BPU group, Natural Foods sources 100% grass-fed Angus and Hereford cattle only from the BPU ‘Never Ever’ program and this protocol is an addition to the Natural Grass Fed and Finished Farm assurances program adopted by the restaurants. The cattle have been free-ranged on natural pastures from weaning and have never been given antibiotics, hormones, or growth promoters.

Viggars’ years of experience are being put to good use in managing and developing the meat supply chain and he is also leading another team in Cape Verde where the business is building a 30 hectare shrimp and tilapia farm on the island of St Vincente.

Closer to home in Portugal, the company has acquired a farm which has been given organic accreditation and will grow all of its own organic salads and vegetables.
