Vegan Fried Chicken (VFC) has closed its Clive’s Purely Plants facility, according to reports. It has also been claimed that both VFC and Meatless Farm will separate from the Vegan Food Group, with VFC co-founder Adam Lyons appearing to have re-entered the business to simplify the company’s structure as VFC Food.

VFC Foods will continue to trade as normal, Lyons is quoted as saying.

In June 2023, Meatless Farm was acquired by VFC following reports of insolvency. VFC also purchased Clive’s Purely Plants later that year.

Speaking to journalists, chairman of VFG Matthew Glover is reported as saying: “Decisions were made in the interest of creating a permanent, profitable operation to produce and distribute sustainable plant protein across Europe.”

Note: VFG has been contacted for comment but has not responded at the time this story was posted.
