The two-day event featured demonstrations of full-line solutions created in partnership with Formax by Provisur and showcased MULTIVAC UK’s full Compact Series portfolio.
The MULTIVAC UK Processing and Packaging forum, which includes an evening Oktoberfest celebration, was held at the company’s Innovation Centre in Swindon from 2nd-3rd October and featured demonstrations of the company’s latest product launches, full Compact Series portfolio and Total Offer service and support package.
The Innovation Centre includes a temperature-controlled room, enabling visitors to be taken through full processing and packaging line demonstrations, which were held across the two days, with staff on hand to answer questions. The event also included a keynote presentation from WorldPanel by Numerator business unit director Nathan Ward, covering UK food market data and trends.
Compact Series demonstrations
The MULTIVAC Compact Series is tailored to smaller-scale manufacturers seeking to upgrade their processing capabilities, with commercial food processing, packaging, labelling and inspection equipment designed to fit flexibly into a small footprint. Components such as the R 085 Thermoformer and S 300 Slicer can be paired to enable automated compact line solutions engineered with the aim of boosting productivity.
Strategic partnership with Formax by Provisur
With an official launch at this year’s Processing and Packaging Forum, MULTIVAC showcased its integrated lines in partnership with Formax by Provisur. The collaboration brings together Formax slicing technology with MULTIVAC expertise in full-line integration. Featured at the event, the Formax FMS & Flow Wrap Line joined the Formax SX380 Slicer and Free Movement System (FMS) with the Multivac W Series Flow Wrapper to offer advanced automation for increased efficiency. The cutting-edge FMS can handle different products and uses electromagnetic technology to move free-floating tiles along the line, enabling shorter line length and greater production flexibility.
“We aim to help customers by making their processes more stable, more efficient and more cost-efficient.”
Christian Trauman, Multivac group CEO
Group CEO Christian Trauman opened the event with a welcome speech and introduction to new MULTIVAC UK MD Robert Kiely, who joined the company in September. With businesses facing challenges such as increased costs and the drive for sustainability, Trauman focused the need to reduce materials and energy use while maintaining quality and production efficiency. Commenting on these priorities, he said: ”We are all facing tremendous pressure politically, but also economically, and we are trying to help our customers survive this battle with automation, with line solutions, with AI and by making their processes more stable, more efficient and more cost-efficient.”
Multivac managing director Robert Kiely commented: “It’s a great time to join the business and I value having the opportunity to meet with customers and spend time looking at the total MULTIVAC offering with them – talking about the equipment and full-line solutions as well as innovation, and also caring for the full life-cycle of the machines.”
