A Roadshow and Festive Meat Products competition is to be hosted by National Craft Butchers this September in Coventry.

The 2017 Supreme Award at the Roadshow was collected by Paul Swain (left) of Owen Taylor & Sons, sponsored by Steve Derrick of Lucas Ingredients.

The event will take place on 26th September at Windmill Village Hotel in Coventry.

The day will feature a Christmas theme and events will include an afternoon series of demonstrations and presentations to help attendees make the most of sales during what is considered by industry as the busiest period of the year.

The day will also involve a line-up of exhibitors displaying their products including equipment, packing, sundries and ingredients.

There will be a ‘Butchers Forum’ which will offer attendees the opportunity to exchange tips and ideas regarding seasonal trends and opportunities. The forum will also offer exhibitors and guests the chance to see what others are doing and what works for them.

The competition itself will include seven categories including everything from festive roasts, mini hams and chipolatas through to pigs in blankets and cold eating pies.

Products will be judged on the day by a team of expert judges and trophies and certificates will be awarded across the categories.

There will also be special accolades awarded for Innovative Festive Product and Supreme Festive Product of the day.

All entries to the competition must be registered by Friday 21st September.

To close the event, a hot fork buffet will be served to all attendees, providing networking opportunities before the presentation of competition trophies.
