The new BDCI festival chairman, Norman Hatcliff, says he is determined to increase awareness of the charity with a programme of fundraising activities lined up for the coming year.
Hatcliff is managing director of the multi-temperature warehousing and logistics business Norish Limited and has worked within the food industry for 40 years.
He said: “I’m confident that we have put together a very exciting, inclusive programme of activities and events for the year ahead. My hope is this will appeal to as many people as possible to ensure we have the opportunity to make 2014 a great fund raising year.
“As well as fundraising, I will use this opportunity to gain a better understanding of the needs of potential beneficiaries of BDCI and seek to explore what can be done to widen the support network. After all, this is our own meat industry charity and it is up to us to ensure it continues to thrive and remain relevant in today’s society.”
The programme of fundraising events for 2014 is as follows:
9th April Clay Pigeon Shooting, Bisley Shooting Ground, Brookwood, Surrey
27th June Gala Food & Wine Evening at Butchers’ Hall, London
17th September Golf Day and Surrey Downs Golf Club, Kingsdown, Surrey
31st October Annual Festival Dinner, Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
