A total of 50 new jobs are hoped to be created by the opening of a new North Yorkshire sausage factory in April, from food company Heck.
The new factory, located in Sinderby, will see a company investment of £3.5m.
Heck’s current production facility only has space for two production lines, and the new factory will cater for four or five with extra room for expansion. The floor space of the new factory will be 1985 square metres
The food business, established by the Keeble family in 2013, is recruiting for a variety of roles in HR, finance, purchasing and on the production line. Digital and marketing positions will also be available.
Company co-founder Andrew Keeble said: "We look for people with confidence – people who have personality and a can-do attitude. Of course there are specialist roles within the business but we’re very open to the idea of people changing career paths. That’s what’s brilliant about Heck – there are no job titles and there’s no glass ceiling.”
Marketing and events planner Jack Tate, from Harrogate, has been with the company for five years. He said: “Anybody can make a good fit but it’s great if you are forward-thinking, fun, spontaneous, willing and self-driven. We’re very much all in it together.”
Taking its name from the family motto ‘what the heck’ the gourmet food company was founded by husband and wife team Andrew and Debbie and three of their children.
With a team of 70 staff, which has an average age of 25, sales have grown 170% a year and its products are now stocked across the major supermarkets.
