Those wishing to nominate candidates for the 2021 Women In Meat Industry Awards have until this Friday 9th July to do so. The deadline has been extended very slightly to cope with demand for this popular initiative.

This year the Women in Meat Industry Awards returns as an in-person event.

Voting for the selected finalists will then go live shortly afterwards at the official website and the ceremony, with its presentations, will take place in London on 18th November this year.

After moving the ceremony online in 2020 for a virtual event, brought about due to Covid restrictions, the unique occasion will once again culminate in a five-star black-tie dinner and ceremony with an after-party in London. This year the awards will move to a new location at the Hilton London Metropole, which has recently had a multi-million-pound refurbishment. Nearly 10,000 votes were received last year and organisers are hopeful for an even bigger response this time around.

The overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award went to Margaret Boanas of IMTA in 2020 and organisers report that already anticipation is high to see who will win the categories, and the overall award in 2021.

Editor of Meat Management magazine Jane Connolly said: “All the team at Meat Management are really looking forward to recognising the amazing contribution women make to our industry.

“We are particularly delighted that Katharine Merry can join us to host the evening this year, a very inspirational woman in her own right, and I hope as many readers as possible will now nominate worthy candidates for the 2021 event by this Friday’s deadline.

“There is a wealth of talent across our industry and we at Meat Management are so pleased that our initiative has been received so well over recent years. It’s a very special awards and a wonderful evening when we celebrate the great women who contribute so much.”

Full details of all 10 categories and online nomination can be found at www.womeninmeatawards.com. Tables and tickets for November 18th can also be booked at the website.
