A number of partners have quickly committed to the Women In Meat Industry Awards following news that the industry has responded extremely positively to the new initiative. Both the Ladies in Pigs (LIPS) and Ladies in Beef (LIBS) organisations have given the scheme a vote of confidence and will be endorsing the new Awards, which culminate in a five star black tie dinner in London on Friday 16th November. Also announced is that the first category partner has taken up the Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award sponsorship, one of seven Awards scheduled to be presented on the night. Kerry Taste & Nutrition was quick off the mark to agree to support the new Awards.RD&A director meat food systems (Europe) at Kerry, Liz Williams, was very enthusiastic about participating: “At Kerry we know how important it is to engage with our market and to support it. We believe this to be a really innovative initiative and we also know what a fantastic range of talent there is out in the market. Women play a major role in the meat and food sector and highlighting this fact and recognising top people is very welcome.“We know that YPL Exhibitions & Events, together with Meat Management magazine, have an excellent pedigree in staging other great events and I am sure that not only will these Awards be fully embraced by our industry, but that we can look forward to a wonderful celebration of some of the very best talent this coming November at the Awards ceremony.”
