“Innovation in Product Development” is the theme for this year’s Plumpton Butchery Showcase & Meat Product Awards, taking place at Plumpton College.

Plumpton College is kicking off its centenary year at the Plumpton Butchery Showcase & Meat Product Awards, held at the college in East Sussex on 11th March.
The event will bring together butchers, manufacturers and suppliers for talks, demonstrations and tastings. This year’s theme is “Innovation in Product Development”, and the showcase will offer butchers practical ideas to help them discover the most popular and profitable products for their businesses and expand their range of oven-ready dishes to meet growing demand.

The college was the winner of the 2025 Meat Management Meat Industry Awards Training Scheme of the Year award for its Advanced Butcher Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships and Graham Yandell MBE F.Inst.M, publisher of Meat Management magazine, will open the event and share insights from his decades observing the industry. He will also be presenting an award at the event. Attendees will have networking opportunities at a complimentary supper with drinks.
This year’s Meat Product Awards will include a new highlight: the presentation of the Plumpton College Butcher of the Year trophy.
