In celebration of UK Sausage Week, which ran from Monday 26th October to Sunday 1st November, sausage producer Porky Whites hosted its very own Great British Sausage Link Off.

Over the course of the 2026 UK Sausage Week, members of the Porky Whites team took part in the manufacturer’s Great British Sausage Link Off, a competition to see who was the fastest sausage-linker among them.
The competition saw colleagues attempt to make 18 links, with any tying techniques allowed, timed to see who could complete the challenge in the shortest time. Using hog casings only, the Link Off stated that every link “must hold”, encouraging sausage-makers to let out their competitive side in support of UK Sausage Week.
Alicja achieved a time of 12.4 seconds in the first round of the competition, setting the baseline for other competitors.
Ivy completed in 14.7 seconds, just behind Alicja and missing out on the top spot.
Mariana completed 18 links in 11.59 seconds, putting her in first place and making her the champion for 2026.
Nina finished in 13.1 seconds, knocking Ivy off the podium to finish in third place.
Followers of the competition remarked on the speed of the competitors, with one stating: “That would take me all week to do!”
Others commented that the competitors had exhibited “true skill”, and called the Link Off “addictive to watch”.
Paul Van Wymeersch, head of marketing at Porky Whites, commented: “This year we wanted to have a bit of fun and add a dose of healthy competition and ask how fast can you tie sausages. Four of our team took up the challenge to lay down a marker in a bid to showcase that the craft and joy of sausage making is alive and well.”
