EBLEX’s Quality Standard Mark (QSM) Scheme is celebrating a successful start to the summer with over 50 new members joining in just one week.
The latest members to join the QSM Scheme, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, include 47 independent retailer butchers and three farm shops.
The new sign-ups to the Scheme come as a result of EBLEX’s latest communication with non-members, which offered businesses the chance to register to receive a selection of free promotional materials. 1,300 point-of-sale (POS) kits were made available to non-QSM members and over half of those were allocated in the first week to businesses keen to benefit from EBLEX’s marketing material.
Michael Richardson, EBLEX direct sales manager, said: “As well as having access to business support and free marketing materials, QSM Scheme members qualify to use the QSM beef and lamb logos in-store, on their website and on other marketing literature."
Michael added: “We’re thrilled with the response we’ve had so far; as well as the 50 new sign-ups, more than 200 additional companies have expressed an interest in joining the Scheme.”
Laura Bishop, EBLEX marketing manager (Quality Schemes), said: “Our QSM Scheme is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and currently has 2,725 members. It differs from other quality assurance schemes because as well as providing guarantees of food safety, animal welfare and care for the environment, it also addresses key consumer concerns about the eating quality of red meat.”
