Red meat buyers in the all-important US market will have the chance to sample pork from the UK at an AHDB event in Miami today [9th November].
Around 40 key influencers have been invited to a reception taking place today [9 November], organised by the AHDB Export team, to help boost shipments of pork.
The event is part of our ongoing activity in the USA to continue flying the flag for red meat to American consumers.
During the reception, guests will sample a selection of pork canapes before enjoying a carvery of lamb and beef, as well as a variety of cheese from the UK.
AHDB’s butcher, Martin Eccles, will also be at the event to give a butchery demonstration highlighting the versatility and innovation of red meat from the UK.
Senior export manager (Americas), Susana Morris, said: “This market is very important to us because it provides an opportunity to export our products not just to America but also to the Caribbean and the recently opened markets of Mexico and Chile.
“The reception will allow us to showcase the taste of red meat from the UK while promoting our high animal welfare and husbandry, which is valued in the US, as is our continued low usage of antibiotics.”
