Following the success of last year’s promotion, Red Tractor will again be offering promotional packs throughout the summer months to get the nation barbecuing.
Research has shown that the barbecue season starts as early as April for many Brits, and therefore Red Tractor is urging retailers to get behind the promotion and stock up their shelves.
As part of the promotion, Red Tractor is offering Napoleon Grill barbecues, worth £200, up for grabs every day during the barbecue season.
In a bid to drive consumer awareness and understanding of its standards, in conjunction with the summer promotions, Red Tractor is also on the lookout for ‘Britain’s Best BBQ-er’ with a new competition across social media.
Andy Thompson, marketing manager at Red Tractor commented: “Last year’s barbecue promotion was phenomenally successful; our on-pack offer ran on ten million packs across 1,000 lines, generating over 300,000 entries and record levels of traffic to our website.
“This year the impactful on-pack promotional labels can be applied to all categories of Red Tractor packed branded goods, including meat and poultry, dairy, cereals and fresh fruit and vegetables, making this our biggest summer promotion yet and giving consumers even more chances to win.”
The addition of the competition aims to get even more people across the nation to barbecue earlier in the year and more often.
Shoppers are being encouraged to share their best barbecue recipes on Twitter and Facebook in order to be voted for by Red Tractor for a chance at winning the competition.
The summer promotion will be supported by a consumer PR campaign fronted by Countryside & Farming expert and BBC TV presenter Adam Henson.
There will also be an email, digital and social media campaign communication the ‘Trust the Tractor’ message to shoppers to highlight that the Red Tractor logo confirms the products had been produced to respected standards of food safety, hygiene and animal welfare.
Shoppers wanting to take part in the competition should visit www.redtractor.org.uk for more details on how to enter.
