Nominations have opened for the Royal Smithfield Club Bicentenary Trophy, as people and companies from across the British meat and livestock industry are encouraged to put names forward.

The national award publicly recognises the contribution of an individual or company to the British meat and livestock industry, and is open to anyone in the sector.
Nomination forms must be completed by the proposer and accompanied by a citation detailing the contribution of the candidate and reasons for the nomination, with the final deadline set for Friday 18th December 2026.
A committee appointed by the Royal Smithfield Club will consider the nominations at their meeting, which will be held during the early part of 2027.
The winner will be invited to an appropriate event to receive the award of the Club’s Bicentenary Perpetual Trophy, which is an Armada Dish set with 25 Golden Guineas.
Previous winners of the award include National Sheep Association chief executive Phil Stocker MBE in 2026, as well as Chris Dodds, Livestock Auctioneers and Association executive secretary, in 2025.

On being awarded the Royal Smithfield Club Bicentenary Trophy in 2025, Dodds said: “I am extremely honoured to have been selected to receive this trophy, following in the footsteps of such respected peers across the sector, including, of course, some sharing this occasion during the presentation.
“I take great pride in representing the LAA and the wider British meat and livestock industry, and am truly grateful to have my work and efforts recognised in this way. I hope it reflects our commitment at the LAA, and across those members of The Royal Smithfield Club, to support a vibrant and resilient UK livestock sector.”
Nominations should be submitted by Friday 18th December 2026.
