Sainsbury’s has recalled its Just Cook Chicken Breast with Piri Piri sauce due to incorrect packaging of some of the products.
It is understood some packs contain a chicken and bacon lattice and therefore the product will contain milk and wheat, which has been undeclared.
The recall specifically refers to Sainsbury’s 326g pack of Just Cook Chicken Breast with Piri Piri sauce, with an expiry date of 24th January 2016.
The company has displayed point-of-sale recall notices in all its stores and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
In its statement Sainsbury’s said: “It has been brought to our attention that a small number of packs labelled Chicken Breasts with Piri Piri sauce contain chicken and bacon lattice which has cheese, wheat and pork that are not declared on the label.
“As a precautionary measure, we are asking customers who have purchased this product to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.”
No other products or date codes are affected.
