With UK Sausage Week now in full swing, sausage producers across the UK are sharing their special promotions and exclusive flavours as part of the celebrations.

In Woking, Porky Whites is gearing up to find the UK’s fastest sausage-linker as part of its Great British Link Off competition. For those with a competitive side, you must make 18 links using hog casings only, with every link holding strong. Hands up to start, and hands up again to finish, plus any tying techniques allowed – this is one for any producers looking to prove that they are the nation’s quickest sausage-linker!
Customers given award-winning sausages
Kirkby Lonsdale-based Dales Traditional Butchers, which picked up the Best Beef Sausage award at this year’s UK Sausage Week competition ceremony, has given away 1lb of sausages each to two lucky customers, with three more winners to be announced throughout the week! Lesley Birchall was given 1lb of the business’s Lincolnshire Sausages, which were a finalist in this year’s competition, while Di Millen was given 1lb of its Beef & Marmite Sausage, crowned 2026 Best Beef Sausage.

Exclusive Sausage Week menus
At the Black Bull Inn and Restaurant near Blackburn, a special Pork, Leek and Welsh Rarebit sausage and mash dish is available to those wishing to celebrate UK Sausage Week in style. The sausages are produced by Althams Butchers in Morecambe, and will also feature on the specials menu of sister company Edisford Bridge, promoted on socials as a sizzling special for one week only.

Foot-long sausage anyone?
Building on last year’s success, the Sleaford Sausage Shop is once again making its Foot Long Lincolnshire Sausage throughout the week as part of the celebrations. Perfect for Bonfire Night and Halloween, these oversized bangers are a tasty treat for an autumnal night.
Sausage flavours win prizes at Fair Feast
Scottish butcher shop Fair Feast is hosting a sausage design competition in Pitlochry, as it hopes to find the most bizarre bangers in the nation! All submitted flavour ideas will be judged by the butchers and the winner will be welcomed to the shop to make their unique sausage flavour alongside the team.
Similarly, North East catering butchers Freeman Butchers is running a sausage flavour competition with schools it supplies across the North East, with winning flavours from each school to be invited to bring four friends to the company’s NPD kitchen to help make and pack their own sausage recipe. The winning sausage will then be featured on their school lunch menu, and each child will receive two packs to take home. Freeman Butchers described it as a “great way to get children involved in food development and encourage engagement with school meals”.
Joanne Harpin, NPD manager at Freeman Butchers, commented: “It’s our way of combining traditional butchery with fresh ideas, celebrating an industry we’re proud to be part of and encouraging young people to discover the creativity behind great food.”
