It has been announced that Tesco will be extending its Same Day Click and Collect service which will allow customers to pick up their groceries more quickly, avoiding the busy supermarket aisles.
This extended service comes due to an increasing amount of Tesco’s customers turning to Click and Collect as a fast and convenient way to buy their groceries.
According to Tesco, there has been a 20% increase in the number of customers using the service just in the past year.
The new service now allows customers to order an unlimited amount of items before 9am and book a two hour window to collect their groceries from midday onwards.
This new slot is in addition to the existing offer whereby customers can order by 1pm and collect after 4pm.
The service will now be available from more than 300 locations across the UK.
The Same Day collection option has proved extremely popular with around 10% of Click and Collect orders now being placed on the same day.
Adrian Letts, managing director of online at Tesco, said: “More customers than ever are choosing to use our grocery Click and Collect service which is why we’ve decided to introduce a new same day collection slot.
“We offer a range of ways to shop with Tesco and Click and Collect means customers can choose to pick up their shopping at a time and location that suits them, without having to hit the aisles themselves.”
These changes further improve the retailer’s online grocery service which is open to customers and also offers same day home delivery in certain locations.
