Butchery apprentices from across the UK are being invited to take part in the 2016 Premier Young Butcher Competition at Foodex next April at the NEC.
The competition is open to all 18-23 year old butchery apprentices in the UK and will see the finalists compete in six categories producing and displaying innovative Ready to Eat, Stuffed Roast, Seam Butchery, Barbecue and Kitchen Ready products.
NFMFT president and London butcher Jim Sperring said: “Competing in Premier Young Butcher is a great opportunity and can be a life changing experience for any apprentice setting out on a career in butchery today.”
This year’s competition took place at Meatup and saw Lucy Crawshaw of Taylors Farm Shop in Lathom Lancashire crowned Britain’s Best Young Butcher.
