Tulip Ltd has unveiled its ambitious plans to increase the capacity of its Ruskington operation with a major investment programme which will see the site's production floor increase in size by around 25% and eventually lead to the creation of 35-40 additional full time jobs.
The site, which is the largest supplier of Scotch eggs and cocktail sausages for the UK's retail sector, will benefit from an £8 million cash injection to increase its scale which will include the installation of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to ensure it can continue to meet the growing customer demand for its fried savoury products.Phil Wheatcroft, site director explains; "This is an incredibly exciting time for all involved in the Ruskington business, the planned investment is testament to the hard work and commitment everyone has shown and will ensure that we can further strengthen our position as an industry leader in the production of fried savoury products for the retail market whilst providing us with the opportunity to grow our existing foodservice customer base."When the work is complete it will increase our current production capacity by 20% as well as create up to 45 new full time jobs, which will be of great benefit to the local community."Work has already started on extending Ruskington's production area to facilitate the installation of the new production line and will also include upgrades to existing power, waste and refrigeration plant, with completion targeted for April 2015.
