This year’s UK Supreme Sausage Champion winning banger was served to delighted Liverymen and guests at the Worshipful Company of Butchers (WCB) November Court Lunch at Butchers’ Hall in London.

Wicks Manor supplied its Olde English Pork Sausage as canapés which made a welcome and tasty addition to the pre-lunch drinks reception.
The WCB Court Lunch is held on the first Friday of each month and follows the monthly court meeting. The guest speaker for the November gathering was Sharon Ament, director of the Museum of London.
Speaking about the recent UK Sausage Week competition win, Fergus Howie, managing director of Wicks Manor, and a Liveryman at the WCB commented: “The spices include thyme, nutmeg, sage and pepper, which provide the excellent herby flavour of our Olde English sausage. This is our oldest and one of our best recipes – a sausage we started with and still produce most of.
“I am blown away and on cloud nine with our win; it’s so important because it’s a recognition of the care, dedication and hard work that all our team put into every product we make.”

The Master of the WCB, Gwyn Howells, stated: “It is a delight to be able to taste this year’s UK Supreme Sausage Champion at our November Court Lunch!
“My thanks go to Wicks Manor for providing the canapés, which were absolutely wonderful and proved to be a great hit among Liverymen and their guests!”
