An updated online library of facts and figures about the meat industry available free to levy payers and industry stakeholders has been published by EBLEX and BPEX.

Meatstats, supplied by AHDB Market Intelligence, was launched in February, with 13 documents covering data including information abattoirs, global trade, national balance sheets, livestock numbers, trade and seasonality of markets.

The documents replaced the old Meatfax series of fact sheets, formerly offered by the Meat and Livestock Commission and faxed out to subscribers, covering both UK and global figures.

Stephen Howarth, market specialist manager for AHDB/EBLEX, said: “Meatstats are a valuable resource for the meat industry in the UK and globally, containing key information on an array of subjects.

“They are the go-to place for industry facts and figures, complementing the other resource we already have online via the EBLEX and BPEX websites and will be updated as appropriate.”
