US food producer Tyson Brand is voluntarily recalling approximately 30,000 pounds (13,607kg) of its frozen, fully cooked chicken “Fun Nuggets.”
A number of consumers reported they found small, pliable metal pieces in the product, and the company is now recalling the nuggets as a result.
The recall includes Tyson Brand fully cooked “Fun Nuggets” sold to US retailers in 29 ounce (approximately 822 grams) packages. No other Tyson brand products are affected.
The product was shipped to distributors in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin for further distribution to retailers.
According to the US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), there has been one reported minor oral injury from eating the nuggets.
Now, the FSIS is urging consumers not to eat the product, telling people to either throw it away or send it back to the place of purchase.
