Katharine Merry, former English sprinter and Olympic medallist, will be on hand to co-present the ceremony, adding some extra shine to the event.
"This is a truly unique initiative and we want to fully support and highlight the brilliant job women do right across our industry.”
Graham Yandell, the Publisher of Meat Management who organise the initiative, said: “With the ceremony just two weeks away, it will soon be time to shine a light on the tremendous contribution women make to this industry, which has already been recognised by a record 9,200 votes for our collection of finalists.
“Although this initiative has felt the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, and our usual physical ceremony could not take place, everything is in place to present a truly first-class online presentation.
“This year has been one of the most challenging ever for our industry, and so this event is the perfect opportunity to look back and acknowledge the immense work and commitment of 51 finalists and recognise 10 winners. We are incredibly excited for the ceremony and hope everyone can join us live at 4:30pm on 2nd December.”
Richard Watson the managing director of Reiser UK, who are one of the partners supporting the Women in Meat Awards, including partnering the Meat Businesswoman of the Year category, added: “We are delighted to partner the annual Women in Meat Industry Awards and have done so since its launch in 2018. This is a truly unique initiative and we want to fully support and highlight the brilliant job women do right across our industry.”
