A Q Guild butcher from Aberdeen has sizzled up a bright yellow sausage to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
Haigs Butchers, of Schoolhill, Aberdeen, created the ‘daffy sausage’ after being approached by the charity. The chicken kiev flavoured sausage will be coloured and spiced using turmeric.
James Haig, owner of the shop, said of the creation: “Marie Curie Cancer Care approached us and asked if we could get involved. We’re going to try and make as much money for the charity as we can, and have a bit of fun.”
Mark Turnbull, national chairman of the Q Guild commented: “This fantastic initiative from Haigs is yet another example of the ingenuity, imagination and community support shown by Q Guild butchers up and down the country.”
The Daffy Sausage will go on sale at Haigs on 23rd February.
