Two of RED d’Hippo’s central Parisian restaurants will feature the burger, made using PGI Welsh Lamb.

Customers wearing a rugby shirt will receive one free burger per table for the duration of the tournament, which runs until 31st October.

“Currently RED restaurants offer only 100% French meat, therefore this eye-catching promotion is a radical departure for them,” said Laura Pickup, HCC’s market development manager. “If the promotion works as well as we hope, RED restaurants could keep the recipe on their menus and possibly propose it to the other five RED franchised restaurants. If it really takes off, it may be proposed to another 170 Hippopotamus restaurants as well.”

HCC are also be giving away exclusive t-shirts on social media for Rugby World Cup match days. The t-shirts have the PGI Welsh Beef ‘Bred in Heaven’ motif which, according to HCC, will be a forerunner to its new PGI Welsh Beef commercial, set to air for four weeks during October and November.
