The 2023 Women In Meat Industry Awards were hosted by broadcaster and royal correspondent Jennie Bond.

Just days after the ceremony, Sharon Yandell confirmed that this year saw a record attendance at the awards dinner with just under 400 guests celebrating together. Partner bookings from those companies who sponsor the 13 categories are also at a high level, with availability almost sold out already for 2024.

Sharon commented: “The Women In Meat Industry Awards is always really incredibly popular and is growing rapidly year-on-year. We had a fantastic night on 17th November and we have already booked the 5-star Royal Lancaster Hotel again for next year’s celebration, but due to demand have also had to upgrade the event once again to be staged in the hotels impressive and much larger Nine Kings suite to accommodate bigger numbers.

“It is also very pleasing to see our category partners enthusiastically rebooking for 2024 and supporting this unique and popular initiative.”

For 2024 a new additional category has been introduced; Meat Businesswoman - Livestock Procurement & Sustainability which has already been partnered by PHS Teacrate. Sharon added: “We wanted to add this important category and by doing so recognise the many women who do such a great job in this area of the business. However, I think we have now reached a ceiling when it comes to the number of categories that make up the annual Awards.”

In 2023 over 100,000 visits were made to the Women In Meat Industry Awards website resulting in 11,000 votes for finalists. In 2024 the nomination and voting process will start in June and the ceremony will take place in November.

Editor of Meat Management, Joanna Thomson summed up: “The event on 17th November this year was the best yet and I would like to thank everyone who made the night possible and so special. This is an initiative the industry can be truly proud of and our team at Meat Management are also delighted to be able to stage it. Roll on 2024!”
