Feeney replaces John Thorley, who has been appointed president of AIMS. He was appointed to the role as of 1st July 2026.

Previously, Feeney served as CEO of the Food Standards Agency (FSA), and joined AIMS in January 2025 as a non-executive director.

Speaking about the appointment, Jason Feeney commented: “I am honoured to be appointed AIMS chairman at this critical time for the industry. There are many challenges ahead but also a great many opportunities. I am also delighted that John Thorley has agreed to become the first AIMS president. His vast experience will be invaluable as we continue to represent our members best interests in all matters, at every level.”

John Thorley added: “I am thrilled to be asked to become the first president of AIMS and see it as a matter of importance that will enable the livestock and meat producers of the UK to have their interests and views presented in all areas where matters affecting the meat and livestock sector are being discussed.”
