The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) levy payers have ratified appointments across the board’s four sector councils.

Three new and ten second-term appointments across AHDB’s four sector councils have been ratified following an open and competitive selection process.
Levy payers were able to vote in each of the sectors for which they pay a levy between Monday 1st December and Friday 12th December.
Across the Beef & Lamb sector council three second-term appointments were made, consisting of George Fell, Bryan Griffiths and Ghulam Khan.
In the Pork sector council, Becca Spink was appointed for her first term, while Jodie Bolland and Hugh Crabtree were elected for their second terms.
Sector council members are primarily levy payers from each sector. Vacancies are advertised on the AHDB website, social media channels and external job boards. Applicants then go through a competitive selection process based on their skills and their ability to provide balance across the different levy-paying supply chain elements within each sector. Those selected are confirmed through a levy payer ratification vote.
Some councils also have an ‘independent’ member (i.e. a non-levy payer), who can contribute with additional skills such as finance or sector relevant supply chain experience.
Each sector council member will serve for a term of three years, with a maximum of two terms. They will receive £256.25 per day for up to two days a month.
