Meat wholesaler DB Foods has received a £5.6 million investment from Paramount Food Group, with the aim to accelerate the company’s development.

Paramount acquired DB Foods in August 2025, providing “significant shareholder support” and intending to strengthen the company’s financial position, support working capital and accelerate change across the business.
DB Foods has reported a turnover of £202.9 million during the reporting period to 31st December 2025. Net assets increased from approximately £2.95 million to £4.95 million, and net current assets increased from £1.82 million to £3.88 million.
The business said that since the acquisition it had strengthened financial controls, management accountability and commercial reporting while increasing focus on performance, supplier partnerships and working capital. It reported that the early months of 2025/26 have traded strongly and that the board remains “confident in delivering its strategic growth objectives”.
Investment represents a “commitment” between the businesses
Sunnny Sharma, director of Paramount Food Group and DB Foods, commented: “Paramount acquired a business with significant scale, strong customer and supplier relationships and an established position within the UK food industry.
“Our focus during the first year has been on strengthening the foundations of DB Foods and giving the business the support it needs to move forward with greater commercial discipline and clarity.
“The investment made by Paramount demonstrates our long-term commitment to DB Foods. We are now moving into the next phase of the business, with a clear focus on sustainable growth, stronger partnerships with both customers and producers and continued operational improvement.”
